Delete your Kidova account
This page explains how to delete your Kidova account and what happens to your data. It applies to the Kidova apps on iPhone and Android and to the parent dashboard.
How to delete
Only the family's owner (the parent who created the account) can delete it. For safety, you may be asked to sign in again first.
- In the app: open Kidova in parent mode → Settings → Privacy center → Delete account, then type the confirmation word.
- On the web: sign in to the parent dashboard → Privacy → Delete account, then type the confirmation word.
- No access to the app? Email ahmdberro50@gmail.com from the address on your account and ask us to delete it. We confirm by email and delete within 30 days, usually much sooner.
Want to remove only some data? You can delete a child profile, remove a device, switch off detail mode or export your data in the Privacy center without deleting the account.
What happens right away
- VPN access on every family device stops.
- All sign-ins and sessions end.
- A web subscription is cancelled so you are not charged again. App Store and Google Play subscriptions are not cancelled automatically: cancel them in your store settings.
What we delete (within minutes)
Your parent accounts and passkeys, child profiles and their settings, schedules, rules, app limits and video lists, devices and VPN keys, access requests, "wrong block" reports, tamper events, app usage, diagnostics, invitations, data exports, subscription records, cancellation notices, weekly reports and the family change log.
What we keep, and why
| Data | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Invoices and payment records | Tax and accounting law | As long as the law requires (the current ledger keeps them 10 years) [confirm under Omani law] |
| An empty account record: country, time zone, language, sign-up and deletion dates (no name, no email) | Links the kept invoices to an account and prevents reuse of the ID | As long as the invoices |
| Activity counts and daily data volume, stored under random IDs that no longer point to you | They expire on their normal schedule | Detail mode 7 days, hourly counts 35 days, data volume 90 days, daily counts 13 months |
| Encrypted backups | Recovery after a failure; deleted data is never restored into the live service | Overwritten on a rolling schedule, at most 12 months |
| Payment provider notifications (encrypted) | Disputes and refunds | Target 90 days [Eng: automatic deletion not yet built] |
| Our staff's log of support actions on your account | Security and accountability | [retention to be set] |
