Our privacy promise
Kidova protects children without spying on them. Here is what that means in practice.

No browsing history by default
We count blocked and allowed requests per category. We don’t keep a list of the sites your child visits.

Hosted in Germany
Every Kidova server is in a German data center. Your data is processed under German and EU law.

Your child can see Kidova
Children always see that Kidova is active and what it blocks. No stealth mode.

No ads, no data sales
We don’t sell data and there are no advertising or analytics SDKs in our apps.

What we store
- Your account email
- A nickname and age band for each child
- The protection settings you choose
- Your family’s devices and whether protection is on
- Counts per category, for example “ads: 72 blocked”
- Blocked site names for 7 days, only if you switch on detail mode
What we never store
- Your child’s browsing history (by default)
- Messages, photos, screenshots or keystrokes
- Location
- Destination IP addresses or DNS query logs
- Anything inside encrypted connections
All our servers are in German data centers.

Your child can see Kidova
Your child always sees that Kidova is running. The child app has a screen "What Kidova does" that explains, in your child's language, what is blocked and what you can see. If you switch on detail mode, your child is told.
Our advice
- Talk with your child before you set Kidova up. Explain why, and what you will and will not see. Children accept protection more easily when it is not a secret.
- Give older children more privacy. For 16–17-year-olds we show categories, not websites, by default.
- Use access requests. When something is blocked by mistake, your child can ask you with one tap.
- Some counts are not your child's doing. Apps contact ad and tracking servers on their own, so "trackers blocked" numbers do not mean your child did anything.
- Some pages should always stay open. Help lines for children (for example Nummer gegen Kummer in Germany: 116 111) are never blocked by Kidova.

Only for your own children
Use Kidova's child mode only on devices of children you are responsible for. Installing it on another adult's phone without their consent is not allowed (terms §5) and may be illegal.
Your child's rights
Your child has data protection rights too. You exercise them for your child, for example to see or delete the data (Privacy center → Export / Delete). If your child contacts us directly, we will explain what Kidova does and involve you. [Counsel: review process for teens, DPIA §5.3.]
